For Pope Francis' visit to the United States we created a campaign to give people from all backgrounds the opportunity to welcome him in their own special way on numerous platforms. The messages of welcome were posted on the website CharityHasNoBoundaries.org and chosen messages were sent to him as a gift.
We partnered with influencers and organizations such as the New York Yankees, Oprah Winfrey, Stephen Colbert, and Mayor Bill De Blasio for campaign content. During his visit he specifically met with people who Catholic Charities had met and gave a speech, during this speech we used a Periscope feed via Twitter, so people would feel as if they were in the audience at the location.
The campaign lead to a 60% increase in organization donations as well as a 40% increase in social media followers.
